LIPA Maths Council

Showcasing our Maths Council for 2019-20...

Our new Maths Council had their first meeting before Christmas and received their very own Maths Leader badges. The children learnt about their new role and how they will lead Maths with the support of Mrs Delaney in school. The Maths councillors will be helping to update our challenge boards, promoting positive attitudes towards Maths in school and many other exciting jobs. The children already have lots of inspiring and wonderful ideas of what they would like to do in their new roles!

During the Autumn term, we had a Maths Council Election. Every class were given the opportunity to democratically vote for who they would like to represent their class in our Maths Council. The shortlisted candidates presented their ideas in a range of different ways from singing a rap song to producing an interactive poster about what they would do to develop Maths in our school. Well done children all your presentations looked fantastic!

On the 13th November 2019, Mr Parker, Mrs Delaney and some Year 5 children read through all the wonderful Maths Council applications and shortlisted them. The Year 5 children worked really hard and enjoyed reading through the many applications.
