19.7.21- As part of their project outcome, Year One were inspired by our learning about the seaside to create their own mini sculptures of the sea. We then joined all of our sculptures together to make a giant collaborative piece. Well done Year One artists!
Year One have enjoyed becoming Captain Discipline during our project this half term where we have been practising and developing our drawing, painting and printing skills. We loved celebrating all that we have learned during our project outcome and even having the chance to interview our artist Jayne!
16.7.21- Year 1 had so much fun celebrating their last few days of school being Captain Collaborative as they worked together as a team during our parachute games. We had so much fun!
9.7.21- Year 1 have loved being Captain Inquisitive in Science this week as they carried out an investigation to see what materials would be best for a swimming costume.
6.7.21- Year one loved learning all about the country they live in in our LIPA Values lesson this week. They showcased their fantastic drawing skills in their drawings of the United Kingdom. Well done Year One artists!
23.6.21- Year 1 have loved working with our Artist Jayne to learn about colour mixing. We begin to create our own colours of the sea. We also explored using jelly plates create special prints with 3D paint. Well done our Year 1 artists!
18.6.21- Year 1 had a fabulous time for Environment Day on Friday. We enjoyed lots of planting, eco arts and read a wonderful story called Dear Earth.
7.5.21- It's Number Day! Year 1 loved celebrating all things Maths today.
5.5.21- Since celebrating Earth Day Year 1 have been inspired to recycle all of the scraps of paper and material they could find to make their own lion! We think its ROARsome!!
22.4.21- We are all amazing Captain Inquisitives in Year 1! We have been working hard on our problem solving skills this week.
21.4.21- Year 1 were extremely excited to see a ladybird outside this morning before PE! They described it as feeling tickly and counted 6 spots! Year 1 have been working on their sending and receiving in today's PE lesson. Well done Year 1! #realPE
18.3.21- Year 1 really enjoyed being Captain inquisitive in RE this week as we learned all about Palm Sunday. We loved re-enacting the story with the palm leaves we had made. Last Friday, year 1 were Captain Imaginative during arty Friday. We loved developing our painting skills and exploring how we can create texture with paint. We have been learning about the upcoming Census. We loved using our maths skills to create tally charts and pictograms to show how we can represent information in lots of different ways.
5.3.21- Year 1 had a fantastic day taking part in World Book Day! We read lots of books and thought about stories that were important to us. We love to read! We have been learning all about plants this week in Science. One of our activities was to explore the plants in our garden or local area. The children have done a fantastic job identifying and describing different plants!
25.2.21- Year 1 have had a busy week with Fairtrade Fortnight, learning about money and creating their own twisted tales.
