9.3.20- Year 4 travelled down the corridor to the Year 5 classrooms to play ‘don’t tip the ship’ learning about buoncy, materials, surface area, uplift and also about how cargo is carried around the world. Without ships the world would be a very different place.

6.3.20- As it is World Book Day, Year 4 decided to write a scramble story! The machine chose 'write a mystery' 'a flying' ' wizard' 'who loves to solve puzzles'. The stories are brilliant. Check out some of Penny Lane's work today!

5.3.20- The 'eggsperiment' was a success! Year 4 continued their experiment this week in Science to find out the effects of different drinks on our teeth (we used eggshells as a comparison). Ask your children to tell you more about the results. YUCK!

4.3.20- This week, Year 4 took part in a Bollywood and street dance themed workshop with the Wider Participation team from LIPA. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and got very hot and sweaty as they put all of their energy into learning the dance moves. 3.3.20- Our Year 4 children were given the task of providing an information sheet for our potential new teachers and the winners would help with the shortlisting. Yesterday, these 4 wonderful writers were taken over to Big LIPA to receive their prizes, collect the applications and even have some tea and toast with Mrs Lucas and Mr Parker.

13.2.20- Year 4 stepped into our new music room today as a whole year group. You will be impressed with their musical vocabulary alongside their singing and the use of an abundance of instruments.

12.2.20- We were so impressed with the final outcome of Year 4's project, 'When in Rome'. The children have worked incredibly hard in school and at home and showed off their new found knowledge to their visitors at our Roman Exhibition.

8.1.20- Year 4 were visited by Roman soldiers. We learnt all about Ancient Rome, the invasion of Britain, the armour worn by the soldiers, training for battle and the hilariously funny way Romans built their toilets.

19.11.19- Thank you for those who attended the Rock and River interest meeting. We have attached the powerpoint for those who were unable to attend. A letter will shortly be going out to you about school trips, including information on how to pay for our residential.

14.11.19- Year 4 had some amazing visitors this morning in the form of owls. We learnt so many fun facts and upskilled our scientific knowledge of animals and food chains. All children had the opportunity to ask questions and hold a small owl. Thank you very much Croxteth Hall Farm.

10.10.19- Year 4 took on the roles of Captain Explorer, Creative and Performer all in one morning when we went on our trip to St George’s Hall this week. The children loved putting themselves into the shoes of a film director, sketching inside and outside then performing on the steps of the iconic Liverpool landmark.

3.10.19- Year 4 have been very lucky this week as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley stepped into our classroom to be questioned over their time at Hogwarts. The actors from Year 5 took on their roles so well and answered all of our questions ahead of our writing next week.
