12.5.22- We would like to say a huge well done to our year 7 mathematicians who participated in the UKMT maths challenge in April. We had 2 silver certificate winners, Michael and Iris, who placed in the top 25% in the UK. Amazing work!
10.5.22- Today, Y7 participated in University of Liverpool’s Microbiology Event. We worked with incredible scientists and learned a lot about the microbial world! Did you know, we are only made up of about 10% human cells? The rest are microbes!
6.5.22- Scientists from the University of Liverpool visited our year 7s as part of a microbiology event. Students transferred microbe samples onto agar plates before and after washing their hands, which they will observe when they visit the university on Tuesday!
We would like to say a huge well done to our year 7s who had been raising money during the whole month of March for Mind, the mental health charity. We are so proud of you all!
1.4.22- Year 7 have been adding the finishing touches to their project outcome 'Freedom Quilts'.
31.3.22- Year 7 were invited to watch "Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World" at the Playhouse and had such an enjoyable experience! (Not before tucking into some pre-show pizza!)
25.3.22- Year 7 have had a cake sale to raise money for some basketball hoops for the playground. When Mr Parker heard the boys were doing this, he agreed to fund 75% of the cost if the children raised the rest!
24.3.22- Well done to our year 7 boys, Michael and Reegahn, who competed in our final cross-country race of the season yesterday!
18.3.22- As part of their topic 'The Respiratory System', this week year 7 have been dissecting lungs in their science lessons! They were able to identify the trachea, bronchi and bronchioles, we well as the larynx (voice box), oesophagus and epiglottis... Thankfully, we had no fainters!
2.3.22- We would like to say a huge well done to our year 7 cross country boys, Harper and Michael, who competed at Sefton Park yesterday!
Year 7 completed their project by building model Motte and Bailey Castles within their groups.
7.12.21- Today, year 7 were dissecting chicken wings as part of their science investigation of the musculoskeletal system. They were able to observe the bones, muscles, ligaments, cartilage, tendons and even got to see some bone marrow!
17.11.21- Well done to all of the year 7 science pupils who entered our Cell Model competition! We had so many incredible entries and picking the winners was difficult. Fantastic achievement Shaun, Amelia and Michael!
22.10.21- Year 7 have been busy in their art lessons during our fancy dress day.
