Learning through the creative and performing arts
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment. If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you require a paper copy of the information on this website, we shall provide this free of charge upon request.
This week we have been reading lots of fairytales including Hansel and Gretel. The homework this week is to create your own Gingerbread house. You can use any junk materials or even real food such as pasta, rice and sweet wrappers etc.
Next week we will be going on our very own bear hunt around the garden. This has come from the children's interests in bears and teddy bears. We will be learning facts about bears and looking at non-fiction texts. We will also be creating our own versions of hunts such as 'going on a dragon hunt'.
In maths we will be continuing our work on addition and supporting the children to become more independent with this skill.
We are focusing on handwriting and fine motor skills everyday so please help your child to hold their pencil correctly and this will support their letter shapes.
Have fun!

The homework this week is to create your own fairy tale character using recycled materials- it could be anything from a princess, a knight, a frog or even a wizard. Can your child describe which materials they have used to make their character?
We will be focusing on rhythm and rhyming words during our Project Based Learning sessions. The characters will be used during these sessions to create our own fairy tale songs.
During maths we will be developing skills of addition by combining two sets of objects to solve a problem. We are excited to learn how to write our own number sentences.
Have fun!
After the success of our Open Evenings in October and December for parents of children due to start Reception in September 2015, we just wanted to remind everyone that the deadline for applying for Reception places is fast approaching - Thursday 15 January 2015.
As we are part of Liverpool City Council's co-ordinated admissions arrangements for Reception school places, all parents seeking a place for their child to start at LIPA Primary School in September 2015 will need to complete the online application at www.liverpool.gov.uk/admissions and submit it by this closing date.
We will be delighted to answer any questions about the admissions process or LIPA Primary School itself - simply contact our School Reception on 0151 958 0020 (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm).
Please note that the decision to allocate school places lies solely in the hands of Liverpool City Council, and as such, we are unable to give any information about the progress of applications for a place at our school.
Decisions on school places will be communicated to parents directly by Liverpool City Council on Thursday 16 April 2015.
