Learning through the creative and performing arts
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment. If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you require a paper copy of the information on this website, we shall provide this free of charge upon request.
We have been successful in our bid to AVIVA Community Fund.
We entered into the Health and Wellbeing category for the £5,000 awards, and our project - The LIPA Primary School Garden - was successfully approved.
We've now been told that we have won an award of £5,000, so we can plan more development work to our outside spaces. Watch this space!
Today we had a very special visitor in assembly.
Mrs Williams and Baby Leo came to visit - we had to be really quiet so we didn't wake Leo up!
It was lovely to see Mrs Williams and to ask her lots of questions about Leo.
She stayed to see our certificate winners and was very proud of how sensible and caring everybody was.
See you again soon Mrs Williams and Leo!
We will be keeping our current menu in place until February half term. In the meantime we are taking feedback from staff and children to inform the summer menu. If you have any feedback on our current menu (which has recently been sent home) please send your feedback to info@lipaprimary.org
However, if you do choose to send in a packed lunch, please see the information below (from the NHS) as we are keen to ensure all children receive a healthy, balanced diet.
A healthier lunchbox should:
- be based on starchy carbohydrates (bread, potatoes, rice, pasta)
- include fresh fruit and vegetables/salad
- include a source of protein such as beans and pulses, eggs, fish, meat, cheese
(or dairy alternative)
- include a side dish such as a low-fat and lower-sugar yoghurt (or dairy
alternative), tea cake, fruit bread, plain rice/corn cakes, homemade plain
popcorn, sugar-free jelly
- not include sweets, chocolate or crisps
- not include a drink. All children are provided with water
Thank you for your support with this.
Following on from the guidance in recent newsletters about on-line safety, we have sent home two booklets which we hope will be helpful.
Your Child’s On-Line World - This booklet offers some simple guidance about the risks your child might face online, some advice about what you can do to keep them safe, and where you can go for more help and support.
A Parent’s Guide to Being Share Aware - This booklet contains a range of advice and guidance about keeping children safe on line. It is initially designed at the 8-12 age range however the advice is relevant to all ages.
If you need a copy of either booklet, please get in touch with the school office.
The Internet is a fantastic resource however it can also hold lots of dangers for our children. Working with them to appreciate this at this very young age will hopefully ensure that they can enjoy the Internet and use it safely as they grow up.
