We are excited to invite you to our first Stay & Read sessions at LIPA Primary School!
On Thursday 19th October, you are invited to join your child in their class for story time. This will be a lovely opportunity for you to listen to a story read by the teachers together, in addition to seeing what’s been going on in the classrooms and what your children have been up to for the last half term!
If you would like to join us, please be in the reception area 5/10 minutes before your class time slot and wait for the staff to escort you up to the classrooms. Once the session is over, you will be able to take your child home. Please ensure you check with the teacher first and sign your child out on the register to keep them safe.
EYFS – 2.15pm
Y1 & 2 – 2.30pm
Y3 – Year 3 will be out on a trip, so you will be able to join them for the next Stay & Read session in Autumn 2.
These sessions will be taking place every half term throughout the year, so don’t worry if you can’t make it every time!
Thank you for your continued support.
We have been busy raising lots of money this week for Guide Dogs. The children had a visit from two guide dogs on Monday. One had been a guide dog for a couple of months and the other was learning how to be a guide dog. They were both very friendly and loved meeting all of the children. We had lots of questions to ask and found out what guide dogs do and how they train.
Wednesday was our Active day, so we came into school in our sports gear and did lots of activities including yoga, dance, football and dodgeball. Little Sports coaches came and helped us and we all worked hard and had fun at the same time.
We have all been learning dances to 'I Like To Move It'. The children have some brilliant moves!
Remember, the money we raise is split between the Guide Dog Association and school.
Thank you for all your support this week.
Today is World Mental Health Day.
Sometimes it is difficult to talk about our mental health and we will be talking to children today about how they can share their feelings and also how they can be a good listener if their friends have any worries. During yoga / wellbeing this afternoon, we will be creating posters reminding everybody to talk if they have any worries.
This video is by the Anna Freud Foundation and looks at ways we can discuss mental health with our children.

As our school does a lot of work to raise money and make donations to charity, we have decided to really celebrate it this year. Each class has picked a charity that they would like to support and the children will be raising money throughout the year in different ways for their respective charity. We would also like to celebrate any other charity work that those at our school participates in, so if you or your child has supported any charities recently, and you have pictures and things we can add to our display please let us know. We would love to celebrate all of the kind work that our children do!
Our class charities: Butterflies: Bloom Appeal |

Starfish: Barnardos |
Jellyfish: RNIB |

Next week we will be 'Moving It for Money!' The children have all brought a sponsor form home and a letter explaining what we will be doing. We will have a visitor from the Guide Dog Association on Monday who will visit each class. We will also be having an active day on Wednesday. The children in Years 1, 2, and 3 can wear their sporty clothes and every class will be participating in active sessions during the day. If your child does any other activities at home, please add these to their sponsor form.
50% of funds raised go to the Guide Dog Association and 50% come to school for us to continue to build on the developments of our school.
