Learning through the creative and performing arts
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment. If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you require a paper copy of the information on this website, we shall provide this free of charge upon request.
On 19th October we will be hosting a pyjama party in support of the Sick Children's Trust, which is the chosen charity of the Lambananas (Year 3). We would like everybody in school to wear their pyjamas to school and stay for a Big Breakfast! We will have breakfast stations in each classroom and you will be able to come into the classroom from 8.40am and have breakfast with your child. Let us know if there are any breakfast things that you could donate to support this event.
Younger children will be invited into their big siblings’ classrooms for breakfast. Parents will be able to stay in the classrooms until 9.15am and may even want to share a bedtime story with their child. Anybody who can stay after their breakfast, we would love for you to join us to plan our Christmas events and we will even provide a hot drink!
At the beginning of each year, we hold the Macmillan Coffee Morning and this is such a lovely event for meeting our new parents and all getting together. We would love to invite you all to our coffee morning on Friday 28th September at 9am. We will be holding the event in the hall and any donations of cakes and baked goods will be very welcome. Let's beat the amazing turnout that we had last year!
Thank you so much to everybody who supported us with our Refugee Week work and who joined us at the coffee morning, it was great to see so many of you and being joined by EMTAS who shared all about our work towards becoming a school of sanctuary.
We also received this 'thank you' from St Barnabas Church regarding our sock collection:
On Tuesday 19th June, 9am-10am, I would love to invite you all to a coffee morning to share the languages that we speak, the languages that our families speak and also just for a catch up before we finish another school year.
Also, if you have any recipes of biscuits or cakes from different countries, it would be great if you could bring us some tasters along too?
Our school is growing into such a rich, diverse and exciting community and it would be lovely to see as many of you as possible at our coffee morning.
Today, we had a visit from Faye who taught us all about why it is important to use the bus. We learnt a new song and dance and even went on a bus journey around the hall. Reception and Year 1 enjoyed the visit and learnt a lot about buses.
Don't forget to go and visit the moon at the Anglican Cathedral before it disappears!
Yesterday, we got up early and all headed to Moel Famau. We were very lucky with the weather and with our fabulous team. We completed the walk and had a lovely time doing it. We hope we can continue to raise awareness for mental health and some money to create some calm zones in our outdoor areas to support the mental health of our children.
Please see the LIPA Values section of the website for pictures.
Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week. As a school, we have decided to take action and help our children to understand stress and ways to deal with their feelings. The children have thought of ways to challenge the teachers and challenge themselves to raise awareness for Mental Health.
On Friday 18th May (next week), we would like to invite children to come into school in sports clothes. We have planned a day full of challenges and will be discussing ways to help us when we may feel stressed. Please bring a £1 donation.
LIPA Primary staff have also accepted the challenge to raise awareness of Mental Health and raise money for the school by walking up Moel Famau in Wales this Saturday 12th May. You will see donation buckets in the foyer and any donations are welcome to help us achieve our Saturday Climbing Challenge! All donations will be used to develop the underground playground area of our school, creating calm spaces and friendship zones.
Thank you for all of your support.
This week we started our 6 week course in Capoeira. The children will be working with Eleanor and Akil each week and building up to an end product that we hope to share with all of the parents. The pictures show just how much fun the children and staff had during the sessions
